Welcome to Brighter Habits!
Brighter Habits is designed for people whose lives don't fit the rigidity of traditional habit trackers, particularly neurodivergent and chronically ill people (two groups our founder is a member of).
We want habit building to feel supportive, not punishing or shame-inducing.
That's why we've eliminated streaks, due dates, and other rigid systems that feel like they're guilting you when life gets hard.
Our Philosophy
- Prioritize flexibility: Your life doesn't look the same every day, so neither should your habit tracker. The app lets you set custom frequencies for habits that you don't do daily, you can easily hide a habit for the day if you're not feeling it, and you're never penalized for “missing” a day.
- Practice self-compassion: Missed days are inevitable and expected. Instead of highlighting those days with negative penalties like broken streaks and red “X”es, the app simply moves on, no drama involved. We focus on highlighting when you do show up, not when you don't.
- Motivate with what matters: Lasting momentum comes from tapping into intrinsic motivation, or things you really, personally care about. Our prize system helps you do that by working towards real-life outcomes with your habits.
- Celebrate all effort: Acknowledging effort and progress, no matter how small, is key to maintaining motivation. Between prizes, points, and in-app animations, we remind you to do this every step of the way.
About the Creator
Brighter Habits is a product of Work Brighter Media, a digital product company and community for neurodivergent and chronically ill adults who want to build productivity and life management systems that work with their brains and bodies.
Our work focuses on making planning, habit tracking, and goal-setting tools flexible, forgiving, and accessible — removing the shame and rigidity found in most productivity systems.
Founded by Brittany Berger, a chronically ill and AuDHD writer and creator, Work Brighter also offers planning and productivity templates, educational courses, and a peer support community. Learn more at WorkBrighter.co.
